Mount Rainier Climbing Fee & Permit

Anyone traveling on glaciers, attempting the summit, or going above high camps must pay the climbing special-use fee before registering, then register in person (or self-register in the off-season at Paradise Old Station). Overnight climbs also need a wilderness permit; two-thirds of peak-season inventory is reservable on Recreation.gov.

Permit dates, fees, and rules change every year. Always confirm on the official agency or booking site before you apply.
